June 25, 2012

Hello. If you are reading this, you will want to mark the following date: June XX, 2013.
Then you will want to make sure that on this date, you are in the following place: New Orleans.

On this date, an elite group of French and American artists join forces to create a one time only international art happening.

The artists are connected by invisible bonds that weave complex patterns across the Atlantic Ocean between Paris and New York. Over the past 30 years, they have gathered together in various permutations to share ideas, studios and projects.

It seems synchronous that France and America, allies even before the birth of America, should join together once again in the spirit of brotherhood on this historic project. And even more appropriate that the city of New Orleans, steeped in the heritage of France, is the location for this energy push.

Independently, each artist has achieved international success in media ranging from oil on canvas, to chemical on acetate, to pixels on screens.

Each is an anomoly. Born by pure chance at a seminal moment in history, they having breached one illustrious moment in time across the birth of the global village.

As a matter of survival, each artist is bilingual, fluent both in the languages of analog and digital.

This places the group in a unique position to interpret, mirror and amplify the intricacies of the meshing between the two worlds - the melded organic-machine cosmos that formed reality before the electronic push, vs. the iWorld.

Now mid-career, they join together to survey the landscape as the world leaps with ferocity and hysteria across the digital divide, courtesy of the global electronic revolution.

Standing on the brink - debout sur la breche - the artists remote-view the future, making sense of the chaos and providing clues about how the world will navigate the gaping chasm and the transition.
